This is the ONLY litter I'm going to use from now on. If you have a chance to use this litter, I highly recommend it. It kills the odor, really. If you don't believe me, try it.

I've had 2 cats now for about 3 years, and we started off with clay litter. When one of our boys had some health issues, we were advised to switch from clay a litter made out of plant product. We have a litter robot (the whole top spins around and deposits the litter in a tray below), and the litter pan can hold about a weeks worth of litter. We switched to a popular litter made out of corn, it clumped well, but the used litter would stink up the room after just a few days.

Last week we decided to try the "Naturally Fresh" litter and it makes a world of difference. When I went to empty the litter pan this week, it didn't smell at all, I had to put my nose right up to a clump of litter and even then it only had a slight odor to it! I was very excited to purchase this cat litter. I'd been looking for inexpensive clumping litters with less bulky packaging, and my inner environmentalist was thrilled by the walnut shell composition. Whee! I love when byproducts become useful. Note: I bought this in a store with a coupon given to me by a company representative who was promoting the product that day.

Fresh out of the bag, it's a beautiful litter. It does have a mild nutty scent, but there's very little dust to waft the scent. My foster cat, who is very reliable about using the litter box, had no qualms about continuing to use this litter.

The urine clumps could be firmer, but they held together sufficiently to scoop without having them crumble, I just shook the sifter a little more gently. On the other hand, every time you scoop, the litter becomes dustier and dustier with the sifting. Freshly damp litter smells pleasantly of nuts, but if you wait a day - 2 day old urine clumps do smell of... Read more

Okay - I decided to try this because I wanted a more 'environmentally friendly' litter for my cats AND I wanted dust free. Although I am on a pretty strict budget, I am willing to spend the extra money if it's worth it for their health (they tend to get flare-ups with dusty litters). Now bear in mind that I was using Precious Cat beforehand - it's a great litter at a good price - but the tracking and dust was getting to me (and my three guys!) (Compared to other clay litters, I still believe Precious Cat is superior.)

I have been using this litter for only a week, and I've come up with a list of pros and cons that are worth considering (at least to me):

Pros:

1.) This might sound stupid, but the litter, while unscented, does smell very nice. It's an earthy smell, almost like dirt. And, well, like crushed walnut shells. My test kitten took to it right away. Actually, they all did.

Unlike the other reviewers, my cats (three of them) like it just fine and I love the fact that I get *no* litter box smell --- which includes none of the litter-deoderant smell you get with most sand or clay litters. I guess it depends on your cat...

It clumps well. It is bio-degradable. The litter doesn't track much, though it gives off a powder (corn starch I expect) that does track --- but that is still preferable to tracking sand, clay, or sawdust.

I've tried practically everything, and this is the best litter I've found so far.

We came across this litter a while ago and have not bought any other brand or type since. Even though it is expensive, we think it is worth the price.

For me, the secret is in the clumping - better than with any other product I have tried over the almost 25 years that I have had cats. It remains a clump and does not fall apart like so many other litter brands do if you remove it too soon or too late. It does not matter whether it is fresh pee or you are cleaning the litter box hours "after the deed" - the litter forms a firm clump and even shaking it on the scoop in order to get excess litter to fall back into the pan keeps the clump intact. Very neat and very economical, too, because no product is wasted.

Odor control is very satisfactory. We have three cats and do not notice any bad smells. We think, in fact, this litter performs better than other brands in this department. No obnoxious artificial scenting needed.

This is wonderful stuff for us. We MUST have a cat litter that is safe for dogs to eat, since regardless of what we do, our dogs find a way to eat some of it. At the same time, clumping litter is so much more convenient. So that leaves this corn litter and the wheat kind. The wheat-based brand gives off LOTS of dust, about 50 times the dust that this one does. Not exagerating. Our cat thought nothing of the change to this one and uses it just fine. It does control the odor far better than other varieties (I have been foster mom to 50 cats over the years, and I have tried every litter including clay, pine, newspaper, and wheat). This one is the best by far. That said, if your cat will not use it, it is worthless to you! So you may want to try the small bag first.

After trying the regular clay-based litters, and having my apartment smell like a mixture of the deodorizer and cat urine, I did some research and found World's Best. It sounded too good to be true but after trying it, I am sold. No more changing the litter box every week, no more wasting plastic bags everyday, and no more worrying that the clay is going to make my cat sick. You flush it down and your done. I have never noticed any urine odor. We probably change his litter box every 6 weeks or so. We put about a half of the 17 pound bag in to start, then fill in as needed until the bag is gone. I have heard some cats don't like this litter but it is a tactile thing; some cats don't like the feel on their feet. My cat didn't have an issue when we transitioned. And like food, you have to transition litter as well. After using this litter, I really can't see switching

I have 2 young cats. This expensive litter does not cover any odor. It made one of my cat pee outside the litter box, because she does not like this new litter. I ended up returning the whole bag to the store.

This was a last minute purchase to hold off the 2 cats until we could get to our new home. This "world's best" crap did not clump, smelled worse than the urine it was supposed to mask, and our male cat was peeing in the tub in protest. Finally, we dumped it all out, started over with the good stuff and back in business. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
