5.0 out of 5 stars Best litter ever!, May 31, 2011

I have four cats plus I'm a pet sitter so I've either used or have been around nearly every cat litter ever made. For my own guys, I've tried clay based(too stinky), Feline Pine (2nd best to this product but the pellets don't cover poo smells and the saw dust kind gets everywhere), World's Best (just not a fan), etc etc.

Finally I decieded to pick up a bag of this product and I have to say, it is fantastic. It smells good, covers odors very nicely, and (very importantly) one bag lasts a looooong time if you scoop it every day/every other day. One 18 pound bag lasts well over a month (keep in mind I have 4 cats so anyone with one or two would probably be able to make an 18 pounder last for months).

It's not without cons, particularly the fact that the clumps don't stay together very well compared to conventional litter. If you use a litter scoop with narrow slots, it helps keep the clumps together. Also, it tends to track. I don't use a litter mat because one of... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Kitty's Eyes NO GOOD FOR SENSITIVE EYES, March 23, 2012

I like the idea of this litter for a number of reasons. First the clay litter was clumping onto my old cats feet because his legs have lost some control, so it smelled good, did clump, small pieces didn't clump onto the old cats feet. OMG for kitty #2, took me awhile to realize what was causing his red swollen eyes. After a trip to the veterinary opthamologist we thought it was fibers from a basket he likes. Treated with drops & ointment did not go away, cat constantly rubbing eyes with paws. After 2 weeks it finally dawned on me, that smell of "orange" must be an additive & if it's citrus this might be it ! It seems so.....will take awhile to cure the eyes, but back to clay litter. Thanks Arm & Hammer! for the Vet bill & not making contents readily available so people can be informed, not to mention the cat suffering.

1.0 out of 5 stars Allergic reaction!, March 7, 2012
This review is from: Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Clumping Litter, 10.5-Pounds (Grocery)
Immediately after switching I notice my cat itching. We Had a warm spell in the weather and thought wow, is it going to be a bad year for fleas. Need to pick up a new box of flea med. then I noticed a bare patch on his front leg. Then last night we noticed another bare patch on his other front leg. Then it donned on me......the kitty litter. I read the reviews and found one other person had the same thing happen to them. I traditionally used sweet scoop and was trying to save money. It did say it was natural.... But smelling like it does, how can it be? I had already decided to go back because this product does not clump very good. Had to buy some special salve and I hope I don't have to spend a fortune at the vet. What a HUGE mistake. Stay away! I had no idea something like this could happen!
